Babysitting OCN
Level 2 Credit 1.
Learning Outcomes:

  •  Identify important roles and responsibilities of parents/family and child carer/babysitter
     

    • Describe the role and responsibility of parents/family, when using the services of a babysitter.
    • Describe the role and responsibilities of the carer/babysitter when babysitting.
    • Identify the appropriate action in relation to two emergencies e.g. a fire in the home situation.
    • Describe:
      The importance of personal hygiene for a babysitter;
      Encourage personal hygiene routines for a child.



The course introduces the use of the Neonates electronic baby for training purposes.

  • Demonstrate competence in caring for babies and children
     
    • Demonstrate the appropriate skills associated with bottle feeding.
    • Identify the provision of appropriate food for babies and children.
    • Demonstrate competence in changing nappies.
    • Describe suitable play activities for babies and children.
