Ten members from
Pontypool Youth Council attended the
Youth Festival in Bretten
in Germany in August 2007. The week was a fantastic experience and included a tour of Bretten, sporting activities, swimming, orienteering, a visit to Heidelberg, a visit to Europa Park Theme Park, Tree Tops climbing challenges, discos, evening meals, performances, an official welcome from the Mayor of Bretten, an evening barbeque and a forest walk in the middle of the night. A fantastic time was had by all and friendship were very quickly formed, language was no barrier, and the Welsh, French, German and Portugese young people gelled very well within hours of meeting. Certainly an action packed week organised to a very professional standard by Tobias Klostermann. The 2008 youth festival is to be held in Condeixa in Portugal and it is hoped that the Youth Council from Pontypool will attend. |
