Blaenafon Information Shop or "The Doorway" is a Canllaw On-Line information Zone which provides a wealth of literature on issues concerning young people addition to being a youth centre. Staff are on hand to help young people who require information and can
provide information in leaflet form or assist in searching the Internet
for advice on subject not available on site. Tutors for basic IT skills courses such as word processing,
database management, desk top publishing etc., are also available during
drop in sessions or during youth centre opening times. The Doorway is also
a registered provider for the BBC "Becoming Webwise" OCN IT course.
The Doorway is a Credu digilab centre and boasts over £38,000 worth of
Computer equipment including electronic white boards, computer
equipment, digital video and still cameras and all the software required
for audio and video editing. The digilab is a Canllaw-online initiative
in partnership with Fujitsu.
