Trefil Training Walk September 2003

This 12kms training walk took place at Trefil, which is a small village which extends into open moorland on top of the mountain with views of the Brecon Beacons and the Talybont area n South Wales

The purpose of the session was to develop skills of taking and walking on bearings in open country.

The object of this particular walk was to locate Chartist Cave which is in a remote position in open moorland. The group successfully navigated their way to the cave and found it at the first attempt.

The route over a quite difficult terrain and proved to be a real challenge for some of the less experienced members of the group.

The next training exercise will be in March 2004, probably in the same area where skills can be further honed.
