After months of planning a
group of fifteen left Cwmbran at 03.30 on Saturday October 21st 2000 for
a weekend in France, staying in a hotel just outside Paris with a full
day in Disneyland Paris and a day tour of Paris included. The tour was
organised on our behalf by Travelscope of Gloucester who took care of
all the coach bookings, ferry crossings, road tolls, insurance, hotel
fees and Disneyland entrance tickets.
We travelled to Dover in time to catch the
11.45 Seafrance ferry, arriving in Calais at 13.15 (French time) |

| The
journey through France to our accommodation for two nights at the Hotel Clarine in Rubelle, on the
outskirts of Paris took nearly five hours and we were relieved when we
eventually booked into our very comfortable twin bedded rooms. |
 |
Our rooms had en-suite
facilities, toilet and shower. |
 |
There was a colour tv in
each room. |
 |
| After
a continental breakfast in our hotel we travelled the 30 miles or so to
Disneyland where we had over ten hours in which to explore the
attractions, rides and parades. |

|
| After
leaving the Hotel in Rubelles at 9.00am on Monday we travelled to Paris
for a whistle stop tour of the sights, including Notre Dame Cathedral,
The Eiffel Tower and The Arc de Triomphe. |

 |
| After
Lunch on Monday we returned to Calais for the 17.45 crossing to Dover
from where we made our way home to Cwmbran arriving at 23.45, very tired
but having enjoyed a wonderful weekend in France and a superb visit to
Disneyland Paris. |
 |
We hope to
repeat this trip again in the future and whilst we thoroughly enjoyed
the weekend we would probably travel by Eurostar next time and spend two
days in Disneyland staying at a Disney resort hotel. |
