Ashley House CHYPS Project

Three junior members from Ashley House were presented with their prizes at the inception of the Gwent Cancer Support Service for Young People whose friends or family have been touched by cancer who organised a logo design competition and Ashley House members won first and joint third prizes. The final design chosen named -CHYPS- (Children & Young Peoples Support), now adorns all the leaflets and items used to advertise this extremely worthwhile charity.  Visit the CHYPS webpage.  A member from the Doorway (Blaenafon) gained second prize. Local and national dignitaries including Glenys Kinnock (MEP), Paul Murphy (MP) and Collette Thomas (Mayor of Torfaen) presented the prizes to the young people in front of a large number of local dignitaries and invited guests.  Particular mention was given to the fact that the majority of entries came from youth clubs in Torfaen and the young people from all our clubs are to be congratulated for their sterling efforts.
