FUNDRAISING FOR CHARITY

To the staff and young people of Ashley House youth centre who, just before Christmas, raised over £1900.00 for charity. The proceeds will be divided between Ty Hafan Children's Hospital and CHYPS the charity which supports young people whose lives have been touched by relatives who have been diagnosed with cancer.

We are really proud of the work achieved by Mr Terry Lewis who has been the driving force for many charity fundraising projects at Ashley House and who was given over $2000.00 for charity by the American company Arvin Meritor in recognition of previous fundraising efforts.

Carnival Success

The Junior Youth Centre gained first place in the walking entry category of Cwmbran Carnival in June 2003 with their 'Harry Potter' theme. A lot of hard work had gone into preparing the costumes and the theme  proved to be a very popular part of the carnival with the spectators on route.

Whitecastle

Three Castles Walk
This has become something of a regular annual event and this year, as a result of the hard work in taking part in the carnival, the young people were able to enjoy this free of charge. The day revolves around visiting the three castles at Grosmont, White Castle and Skenfrith which are all quite close together in the county of Monmouthshire. After visiting the castles the young people enjoyed a picnic lunch - again free of charge.
