Cwmbran Community Council Gum Pouch Give Away

 

Cwmbran Community Council, in partnership with Cwmbran Shopping purchased over 700 gum pouches to distribute free to people in Cwmbran Shopping Centre in March 2007.

Members of Cwmbran Youth Council assisted in the pouch giveaway campaign.

The gum pouches are foil lined plastic pouches that are designed for people to place chewed gum so it can later be disposed of properly.

The campaign aims to cut down the amount of gum deposited on the paved areas within the town centre.
The unsightly mess of old gum on the floor is very difficult and expensive to deal with and it is hoped that the pouch giveaway will lessen the amount of gum littering Cwmbran.
